move to fantrax and minor league draft approved
For the first time since 2013, the number of keepers in the League of Mediocre Gentle(wo)men has been expanded.
In a vote of 8-0, Proposals V and VI have been approved by the members of the L.O.M.G. Proposal V approved a move from the ESPN client which hosted the league since its inception to Fantrax. Proposal VI introduced a minor league roster of three players as well as a minor league keeper system and a minor league draft. Debate lasted for almost three days and the final vote had zero dissents.
“I love it. It benefits people who pay attention. And it lets me play the minor league game when I’m competitive,” says Vinson Mulvey.
The first move for the commissioners will be to set a date for the existing rosters to reduce their rostered minor league eligible keepers to three. That date has yet to be set by the league commissioners. After that, the league will partake in its first ever Minor League Player Draft on March 22, 2023, the day before the Major League Player Draft.
“I think this could be a fun change. I see some logistical challenges with the drafting but nothing that can’t be overcome,” says League Commissioner Brooke Stevens. “It will add another layer of complexity that I think the league wants and is in need of”
