ONEIL CRUZ AND TYLER GLASNOW DEALT

The first trade of the 2023-2024 offseason is in the books. Elly Enchanted agreed to terms this weekend with Hiroshima Carpe Diem to trade Oneil Cruz and Tyler Glasnow in exchange for the latter’s third round major league draft pick.

This deal was the culmination of weeks of negotiations during which many names were thrown about, to include Bobby Miller and Joe Musgrove, before finally things took shape rapidly during the Thanksgiving Holiday.

“These negotiations were difficult because offseason values are tricky to nail down,” said Martindell, “I certainly didn’t expect to have to give up Glasnow along with Oneil Cruz when the season ended in September. However, while Shaw may have been more sober on Cruz than I had hoped, he was still higher on him than any other team had indicated up to this point. I’m satisfied with how the trade talks progressed and eventually finalized.”

Glasnow will be kept in the 23rd round and Cruz will be kept in the 24th. Cruz spent most of 2023 on the IL with a broken ankle suffered early in the season. Glasnow has posted elite numbers when healthy but has never thrown more than 120 innings in a season.
